Inspirational Messages from Residence XII Alumnae

The Alumnae Association’s mission is to provide the means to maintain a connection to Residence XII upon graduation via outreach and sisterhood. The following are excerpts from letters the Res recently received from Alumnae. We hope they inspire you as much as they inspire the Res staff.

“I am clean and sober, taking giant and baby steps in areas where I couldn’t ‘go’ even a month ago. The circumstances of loneliness, isolation, and needing to get an income (and a life) are still very pressing—and I am clean and sober despite these circumstances! I am very grateful for my experience at Res XII.”

“I really don’t know the words to say Thank You. I know I got a second chance at life and I’m taking it. Who knew it could be this FUN being sober—oh yeah—you guys…Thanks for showing me the way. I’m really active in AA—it was a real life line for me when I got out.”

“I’m grateful and blessed to be a part of this community. I love my life today. The women’s only concept for me has been an experience that I yearned for all my life.”

“I am so happy—I feel like I have a permanent smile no matter what good or bad is going on in my life. I have learned to overcome situations in a healthy and clean way. I can deal with life on life’s terms. I have learned a little hard work and effort will move my life forward. Recovery rocks, thanks Res! Oh, and I am a mom again to my two beautiful children.”
